So after hearing recent developments over the growing android market, which in comparison to the iPhone is still a child, I have adapted my current idea into an app.
Essentially all of the overall features will be remade into a mobile format with a auto sync option that will allow the user to play on the go without the use of WIFI. As I have not yet obtained the domain registration for my app, I will not divulge the name yet. But a complete series of mockups are nearly completed and will soon be transferred to the development team.
I have chosen the Android for multiple reasons, that I feel, will ensure a stable growth.
- The Android market has close to 16,000 apps, where as the iPhone has around 100,000+ apps currently available.
- There are a numerous amount of companies that develop exclusively for the iPhone. Meaning that while a similar app may be on the apple marketplace, it’s popularity may be matched on the android market.
- The android phones have created a platform that allows developers to use the functions of the specific phones easier than the iPhone has. Which allows for more utilization of key features and opens the doors to Google’s vast API’s that are ready for use.
So while the iPhone may be more popular that the Google competitor, the Androids have been on the rise and more developers are flocking to the new growing market.
